Robert Anderson, Chair of MBI’s Board of Trustees

Robert Anderson, LLM, ESQ, CPA, is the current Chairman of MBI’s Board of Trustees. With over of experience 25 years in biotechnology, Bob specializes in licensing and acquiring intellectual property, as well as developing and commercializing therapeutics and diagnostics. He has a wealth of experience in global transactional law, including technology transfer, licensing, research collaborations, and mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on Europe and Japan. 

At Abbott Laboratories, a Fortune 100 healthcare company, Bob provided legal support for global pharmaceutical products, notably aiding in the development of HUMIRA®, the first fully human therapeutic antibody. His team of professionals provided legal support that helped Abbott earn the award of Most Admired Corporate Dealmaker for four consecutive years. Previously, he served as General Counsel for BASF Bioresearch Corporation, helping to expand the company from 10 to 700 employees and playing a key role in Abbott’s $6.9 billion acquisition of Knoll AG.
