Spotlight: Jon Weaver

Meet the current President and CEO of MBI – Jon Weaver. Jon joined MBI in May of 2015 as Chief Operating Officer and took the reins as Chief Executive Officer in 2019. Under Jon’s leadership, MBI has transformed the way it supports life sciences in Central Massachusetts. MBI is leading the charge to establish Central Massachusetts as a global biomanufacturing hub, authoring a Regional Biomanufacturing Strategy, building relationships networks and relationships across the industry that spans fields and geographies, and serving as a convener and collaborator to bring industry and academia together to achieve this lofty goal.

Jon Weaver and his team also lead the initiative to create a model within the incubator that brings companies from concept to clinical trials with the creation of dedicated StartUp and ScaleUp space, along with the opening of MBI’s Pilot Biomanufacturing Center. MBI also purchased its building along side the opening of the Biomanufacturing Center to ensure continued space for innovation and growth for its companies.

Jon Weaver is a graduate of Assumption University, lives in Sturbridge with his wife and children, and is a HUGE Ted Lasso fan.
