MBI Legacy Spotlight: Abe Haddad, DMD

It is impossible to talk about those who played an instrumental role in the inception and legacy of MBI without mentioning Abe Haddad. Dr. Abraham W. Haddad, DMD, is a retired dentist with deep ties to our community. Dr. Haddad resides in Worcester, Massachusetts, and serves on numerous boards for organizations that support economic development and the arts.

He served as the Chair of MBI for many years and is involved with the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, the Worcester Art Museum, and Tower Hill Botanical Gardens among many other organizations. In 2012, Dr. Haddad received the Isaiah Thomas Award for his outstanding contributions to cultural, social, and economic initiatives in Central Massachusetts.

He has a passion for sailing and has explored the entirety of the New England coastline. Dr. Haddad’s dedication to new endeavors and involvement in Worcester is what led to his desire to be a moving force behind the development of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Research Park and the Massachusetts Biomedical Research Institute, which later became MBI.
