Spotlight on MBI Vice President Zu Shen, Ph.D.

MBI’s first Vice President, Shen holds a bachelor of arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Clark University and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UMass Chan Medical School.

 

Following his doctoral studies, Shen delved into a post-doctoral fellowship focusing on drug delivery before transitioning to SignaBlok, an early-stage biopharmaceutical company. There, he contributed to the development of innovative targeted therapeutics for oncology and other diseases with unmet clinical needs. Seeking to expand his expertise beyond the laboratory, Shen ventured into marketing as a Product Manager at MilliporeSigma before assuming his current role at MBI.

 

Passionate about supporting entrepreneurship, Shen serves on the advisory board for Clark University’s Biotechnology program as well as mentoring graduate students and postdocs by helping them navigate their career paths in the dynamic field of biotechnology.
